It is difficult for the modern blacksmith to avoid making the odd bit of art here and there, ether as a stand-alone piece or to compliment an exising design. I much prefer the latter, utlising decorative components and artistic themes to embellish an already practical design. In this way, I find my attempts at art often mixing with everyday items from around the live space and working environment.
